Today the left click on my Designer mouse stopped working all of a sudden. I could only trigger a left click by pressing longer than usual the left button. This made the mouse basically unusable.

I was very surprised by this, because the mouse is less than one year old and Microsoft hardware is supposed to be good. Looking on the Internet, this seems to be a common problem with quite few people reporting a “stuck” left button.

The good news is that this issue can be fixed with a little hardware modification, as shown in this video:


Make sure to have a Torx T5 screwdriver around, otherwise you won’t be able to complete the mouse disassembling.

I had some problems with removing the external plastic case, but after that the fix was pretty easy.

Sadly, not everyone can do this kind of DIY fixes, so I can’t recommend anymore the Designer Bluetooth mouse to the average user (which is a shame because I love it).
